Solidarity message to the Communist Party of the Philippines 50th anniversary

The Communist Party of Australia (Marxist-Leninist) warmly congratulates the leadership and members of the Communist Party of the Philippines on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the CPP.
We pay tribute to the tireless work of the CPP defending the interests of the working people such as industrial and rural workers, peasants and small farmers, fishers, and Indigenous people in all areas of the Philippines. It has forged deep connections in struggle within all sectors of society, including intellectuals, professional workers, artistic workers and local, regional and national government sectors.
As a leading force in the revolutionary movement the CPP has united the most progressive sectors of society under the banner of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines, conducting laborious and highly principled negotiations with successive reactionary ruling governments, always attempting to secure a decent and peaceful life for the long-suffering Filipino people. At the same time there has been heroic resistance to the oppression and criminal violence of the police and army and the paramilitary thugs of local warlords and mining companies.
We honour the brave comrades who have fallen in the struggle, the comrades suffering in prison, the comrades in exile, and the comrades carrying out their mass work in spite of intimidation and difficulty. We honour the innocent victims of extra-judicial killing by the fascist Duterte regime.
The CPP has exposed and resisted the continuing political, economic and military domination of US imperialism over Philippines society and its ruling class of puppets and compradors. The murderous police and army are propped up and maintained by US imperialism to crush the aspirations of the Philippines people and to keep the country as a low-wage, resource-rich profit base for corporate monopoly capitalism, as well as an outpost for US military hegemony in the Pacific.
In keeping with its stand on imperialism, the CPP has also opposed the encroachment of Chinese social-imperialism into traditional Philippines waters and increasing penetration of the Philippines economy.
The Philippines revolutionary struggle is respected and admired by progressive parties and workers across the world. We are confident that the CPP will continue to advance through new and higher stages of the revolution and will triumph over imperialism, feudalism and bureaucrat-capitalism, winning a better socialist future for the people of the Philippines.
Members of the CPA (M-L) are inspired by the application of the theory and practice of Marxism-Leninism by the CPP in the conditions of Philippines society, to advance the revolutionary movement.
